About Our Neighborhood
The Ridge at Chestnut Apartments are in a fabulous location in South Kansas City. We have a library, animal clinic, grocery store, and public park just minutes away. Our wonderful location near Highway 71 and I-435 gives our residents quick access to shopping, dining, entertainment, and downtown Kansas City. Nearby shopping includes the Red Bridge Shopping Center, the Plaza District, Centre Plaza, and Lee’s Summit.
Are you a fan of football or baseball? We are only minutes from Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Kauffman Stadium, home of the Kansas City Royals. We are near the Minor Park Golf Course. If you’re interested in amusement parks, we are only 30 minutes from Oceans of Fun and Worlds of Fun.
We are also near several colleges including Avila University, DeVry University, the University of Missouri - Kansas City, Rockhurst, and the University of Phoenix - Kansas City Campus.
Access to Downtown & Other Roadways
South Kansas City allows easy access to downtown Kansas City via Highway 71. If you rely on public transportation, referred to as KCATA locally, to get into downtown, there’s a variety of direct routes taking riders from South Kansas City to downtown in 30 minutes or less.
For anyone that commutes into Kansas for work or school, Interstate 435 and Highway 169 allows for a quick and easy trek. For those heading to Independence and the east metro, Interstates 435 and 470 are available. Though they’re fewer routes into Kansas and the east metro than to downtown, KCATA buses can be used for commuters.
